I've been a member of

Western Writers

since 1982, and it has become my literary home. Each year, at convention time, I see treasured friends and talk to editors and agents about my next projects. For half a century it has sought to preserve and enhance the literature of the American West.

The

Author's Guild

is an extremely valuable authors organization. Ever since joining, I've had the wind at my back. It struggles to improve the circumstances of all authors, and has offered generous help to me in my dealings with publishers. I am proud to be a member of the Guild.

The Montana Committee for the Humanities

has been a great resource for me, and has generously supported my work. The committee sponsors book festivals featuring Montana authors. Its sterling staff is devoted to nurturing literature.

The Montana Historical Society

contains a treasure trove of research material, and its fine staff is always there to support authors. The research for many of my stories was done there. The society's historians are well versed in western history, and eager to help.
