Welcome!

I write historical novels and western fiction. I spent most of my life as a newsman in Phoenix, Oakland and Billings, and as a nonfiction book editor in the Midwest. But at age fifty in 1985, I started a new life, writing novels of the West. I moved to Montana, set up shop in a cabin, and started writing and editing the Walker and Company western fiction line. Now, as I approach my seventieth year, I'm still in Montana. I have over fifty novels in print and more coming along.

You'll find interviews here, and a fine biography of me by Dale L. Walker, and some insights into my books, including excerpts from forthcoming titles.
